Athletics Continental cup in Split
Yesterday we had a very positive experience, as we decided to go a see last day of the continental cup in Split, for all of us this was our first “Athletic meeting” ever, till know we only had experience from television.
So before leaving yesterday we expected only to go there for an hour or two, well guess what? We totally got caught by the atmosphere, and could simply not leave before everything was finished.
The highlight in terms of atmosphere was of course when the Local Athletic star Blank Vlasic competed in women’s High jump, although she did not manage to get over 2.10 she won of the high jump competition which made crowds go crazy.
The Station was about 60% full which was really a pity, somehow here in Croatia, the marketing of events like this, starts only shortly before, and when it starts the marketing is done mainly local, which to my opinion is “really stupid” as I am sure lots of tourist would also go to the event, if marketing was done on in do time on web pages related to tourism.
Anyway or conclusion was that the events was great, and we can only recommend people, (also those who generally are not interested in Athletics) to visit an Athletics meeting.
