Croatia EU accession, Removal of critical document could lead to unblocking.

EUThe unsolved border line issue between Croatian and Slovenia, has been main reason for Slovenia to put down a Veto, on several of the chapters related to Croatia´s EU accession.

After meeting between the Slovenian Prime minister Borut Pahor and the Croatian Prime minister Jadranka Kosor, the Swedish EU presidency, was informed that Croatia, will remove some documents, apparently maps of the Croatian – Slovenian border, from Croatia’s EU accession application.

Next step will most properly be that Slovenia and Croatia, would agree on a five person panel who will be in charge of solving  the border issues according to international law, for the panel Croatia and Slovenia will each appoint one member and 3 members will be appointed international institutions.

Once the panel is set, it is speculated that Slovenia will unblock all chapters, which would bring Croatia a big step in direction of the EU.

The Swedish EU president, has already announced a government conference for the 2 of October, where further steps in relation to Croatia’s EU accession should be discussed
