National park Krka waterfalls Croatia

National park Krka waterfalls CroatiaThe national park Krka, has become and increasingly popular tourist destination in Croatia, with more than 700.000 visitors a year it does not quite match the visitor numbers of National park Plitvice lakes. About 100 years ago the world’s second water plant was installed by the Serbian / Croatian engineer Nikola Tesla, he was beaten in a race by a water plant installation at the Nigeria falls, which was installed a few days prior to his, in the national park you can still see part of Tesla’s water plant.

If you want to see whole national park you should plan 5-6 hours, but also a few hours in the park would give you a great experience, you can finish your tour with a swim below the waterfalls.

Here you can find more information about the National park Krka

Yes, this is an ammazing place to visit. As mentioned, the highlight of a visit of the krka waterfalls is so swim below the waterfalls. Unfortunately it is no longer allowed to swim direclty under the waterfalls. When I visited this place for the last time (in summer 2008) there were barriers in the water, at my first visit in summer 2000 they weren’t there. But nevertheless it’s an awsome swimming experience.
