National Park Paklenica CroatiaThe National Park Paklenica is one of the most significant climbing centres in Croatia due to its combination of mountains and sea. Today there are around 400 different climbing sites in Paklenica and each is equipped according to degree of difficulty and length, so every climber will find a suitable challenge. The park has two canyons: Velika and Mala Paklenica, and covers a surface of 3617 hectares. The relatively small area has an abundance of geomorphological phenomena and forms, diverse flora and fauna, attractive landscapes and intact nature. It was proclaimed a national park in 1949.

At the entrance area of Paklenica, you find then marked set location, where large parts of the fiction movies, about the Native American, Winnetou was recorded, movies about Winnetou was based on novels written by the German writer Karl May, in summer there is different events related to Winnetou in the park.
