According to government plans, it still has to be decided when the different vehicle categories will change to the new system, most likely trucks will be the first vehicle types to move to the Km dependent system, the traffic minister would like that the new system is implement as fast a possible for all vehicle categories.

Which technologies will be used is still open, solutions based microwave and satellite systems are being evaluated.

The km based toll system will be a more fair solution, then the highly criticised vignette based system, according to the traffic ministry the new system km based toll system should bring an additional yearly revenue of 45 to 70 million Euro.
