Split Carnival 2010
Today was the most important day of the Split Carnival, even the schools closed earlier, so that the kids had time to prepare them selves for the pageant, which took place at 5 PM on the Riva in Split.
Unfortunately the weather condition was not too good in Split today, so the main gear for the pageant was and umbrella, which most people hat brought with them.
Several of the costumes at the pageant, referred to some of the resent corruption scandals which has been revealed on the political scene, like E.g. a truck with painters and a big sign saying Sveti Rock. (Ongoing scandal, is related to some paint for the Sveti Rock tunnel, which apparently was bought at 50 times the market price)
Do to the weather the pageant only lasted about an hour, but this evening Split will be full of adults dressed up in creative costumes, celebrating the carnival, mainly in the old town area.
Hopefully we will be able to take some better pictures at next years Carnival.
